FireWire 24: Helping to keep Plasser Australia on track

Having worked with Plasser Australia for the past five years, Wormald was engaged to install its fire suppression systems and fire protection equipment on five of their highly specialised machines.

Over a five month period, Wormald worked with their New Zealand personnel to install Ansul®LT-A-101-30 Dry Chemical Fire Suppression Systems onto these machines. The automated Dry Chemical System was selected to avoid the potential problem that water based systems have in freezing during the colder winter periods on the South Island of New Zealand.

Often combining heat, flammable liquids, engines, fumes and electrical components, heavy machinery can have a high potential risk of a fast and furious fire. Wormald offers a comprehensive range of Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems that are CSIRO ActivFire listed to be compliant to Australian Standard, AS5062 – Fire protection for mobile and transportable equipment – to help defend against the threat of vehicle and mobile machinery fire.
